Art Gallery Installations
In my five years as Director of the Mountain View College art galleries, I was able to use my extensive knowledge of art installation and placement. Please enjoy the following photos, which are of various installations done during my time at Mountain View College.
These installations featured work from artists throughout the Dallas area, as well as the work of MVC students. All arranging, lighting of exhibits, and placement was done by me.
I have much experience with out of the ordinary installation problems such as the precise spacing of work, installation of very delicate or very oversized work, non-conventional materials, installation art, installations from ceilings and on non-standard wall surfaces such as stucco and brick. I have a very strong eye for exhibition design and art placement to display the artwork it its best possible light while also harmonizing with the surrounding space. I am highly skilled at lighting artwork in a gallery setting.
My work as Gallery Coordinator included all communications with artists, the public, graphic designers, and PR via phone, email and social media. I submitted all insurance documents for each exhibit, and created a full inventory via Excel and new photo images of MVC’s extensive Permanent Collection. I also designed and wrote text for promotional and educational materials such as signs and viewer’s guides for artworks and art exhibits.
