It has long been clear that a good digital file of your artworks is a necessity. I have 25+ years experience documenting all types of art at a professional quality level. I also have 25+ years experience setting the lighting for gallery exhibits, installations, and documentation photography – with three-dimensional work, lighting the work is of utmost importance to quality documentation, before the photo is ever taken. Lighting should reveal the form of your work in all its complexity without being confusing, and it should call attention to your art with out distracting from it. As an artist myself I strive to understand your intention with the work so it can be efficiently communicated by the lighting and thus the final image.
I do not charge by the hour so I can spend the time it takes to get the image right for each piece. I include 1 to 2 detail shots for each artwork, 2-D or 3-D, and as many detail shots as needed for installations or highly complex work.
Experienced with challenges such as: reflective or highly polished work, glossy paintings or artwork under glass, paintings with low-relief or 3-d elements, irregularly shaped 2-D work, work incorporating a frame, very small or oversize work, highly fragile or delicate work, documentation of performances or work which changes over time, work which incorporates a light source, difficult to access work, extremely low-light situations, outdoor work, stills of video art as exhibited, kinetic work or work which tends to move.
I do not currently have a studio, so must work in your space or a studio can be rented.
